Studio Story

Evoking the wonder of an English country garden I can help you honour your own personal and unique favourites.

I create art from my garden studio, a converted stable in the Suffolk countryside. The village I live in provides inspiration everywhere, from wild hedgerow flowers, to tawny owls and hares. When I'm not in the studio you can find me pottering in the garden or up at our new allotment.

I paint with happy generous and expressive brushwork. It creates a rich feast of colour and texture to get lost in. My work celebrates the rich variety of form, character and hue in the botanical world. The paintings are created as a meditation on the beauty of flowers throughout their precious life cycle.

My signature illustration range is The Language of Flowers which pairs thrifted china mugs with cottage garden favourites. Many pieces in the range refer to the special secret meaning that the Victorians imbued the flowers with. I love the idea of sending a secret compliment to those you connect with, perhaps in the same way our great- great- grandparents would have done.

I was born in Bedford and have a special connection with the town- I have created a range of Bedford Landmark Art prints to celebrate the unique architecture and greens spaces in this English county town so please take a look if Bedford is special to you too.

Thanks for connecting here, love Sara
