Part of my Language of Flowers series Thistles are flowers of Autumn and are joined in the hedgerow by Yarrow, Hawthorn and Bramble which also feature in this range.

Thistle - a floral symbol of "Brilliance" in the Victorian Language of flowers are hand-illustrated on a sustainable mini card. Perhaps thistles got their meaning as their prickly nature would neatly expose any would be invaders to Scottish castles. Or perhaps the brilliance of the beauty of the Scottish countryside.
