It's not hard to see why the Bluetit is such a firm favourite with garden lovers, they are just so cheeky and charming. I have a nesting pair who visit my wisteria every spring to gather spiders' webs for their nest building. It's lovely seeing them close up when the trees are still getting ready to put on their summer foliage.

This beautiful concertina folded card features my original illustration of the buff coloured Bluetit egg, the cheeky Bluetit himself, and the nest he and his partner build together.

Bluetits have distinctive colouring with bright blue and yellow feathers, and they are widespread in Britain, so there is a great chance that even beginner ornithologists can spot them. Plus if you feed them from hanging garden feeders they will put on a fabulous gymnastic display for you while they get their meal. They love hanging upside down!
