Kingfisher's are tiny, but as they have such distinctive colouring with their metallic blue wings and orange breasts they are quite unmistakeable. Despite their diminutive size they are formidable opponents and can go for fish and crustaceans larger than themselves and win. A bird inspiration when we are facing a challenge!

This beautiful concertina folded card features my original illustration of the Kingfisher's egg, the bright Kingfisher himself, and the nest he and his partner build together.

As Kingfishers have such unique colouring there is a good chance that even beginner ornithologists can spot them if you visit clean streams and river banks.
